-Leading strategic planning and developing technical aspects of the company’s strategy to ensure alignment with business goals
-Working closely with management to turn technology into business and leading the use of technology profitably
-Evangelising and communicating the company’s technology strategy, vision, opportunities and challenges to investors, management, staff and other stakeholders
-Defining and communicating company values and standards for acquiring or developing systems, equipment, or software within the company and ensuring that those values and standards are maintained
-Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices
-Leading the establishment of technological processes and controls, including security, disaster recovery and business continuity plan
-Monitoring KPIs and technology related budgets to assess performance
-Leading and supervising recruitment, training, retention and setting of structures for all technology staff in accordance with the company hiring process, personnel policies, and budget requirements
-Promoting achievement of the company’s business goals within a context of community collaboration by developing policies for sharing software code, technological innovation, business processes, and other intellectual property
-8+ years of experience leading engineering teams and successfully driving projects and products, in collaboration with product, design and commercial teams
-Prior startup company experience especially in marketplaces, e-commerce, payment, logistics a big plus
-A visionary with a deep understanding of traditional and new technology that will drive business growth, revenue and organisational development
-Strong network and participation with developer community
-A degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, business, finance, economics or related fields
